Bristol weekends are held in warm and comfortable Relaxation Centre, Clifton.
Exploring the connection between movement and vision.
Light Moves
A one-day workshop exploring movement and vision - a spring clean for the eyes!
Sunday April 6 10.30 am - 4.30 pm
Participants in earlier workshops report improvements in the vision - but this isn't a quick fix.
In the tradition of all Feldenkrais work we will be primarily exploring - with curiosity and interest - the connection between movement and vision.
This is an exploration that includes how your eyes move - often highlighting no-go areas, or a lack of smoothness in the everyday actions of moving focus to a new place.
It also includes how movement of the eyes connects with your whole self in motion.
And, as found in so much of this work, the process of exploration leads to more mobility, more smoothness, more efficiency.
As I'm sure you understand, vision is not just about the mechanics of the eye, but about the interaction we have with our surroundings, and how we engage the brain to create action. Feldenkrais is a great way to create more elegance in this interaction.

One participant with macular degeneration spoke on the first day of this workshop about being unable to judge where the washing line was when pegging out washing. That evening she was amazed to find herself making accurate judgements - putting the pegs in exactly the right place.
Another, with deteriorating eyesight due to old age and the aftermath of strokes, spoke of being able to read without glasses for 30 minutes during the workshop - usually it was more like 5 minutes before she had to give up.
