Non-stylised movement works with movement as a physical, personal and creative process.  Starting from the structure of the body simple movement scores are offered as a basis for exploration.  The subtle kinaesthetic awareness developed through Feldenkrais enriches creative expression.  Inhabiting your movement more fully engenders an embodied sense of self and of presence in daily life and in performance.

The Feldenkrais Method® generates flexibility of body and mind, in a focused, relaxed and often surprising way.  The sequences of movements work like a physical riddle - as each new movement is repeated and explored, new clarity is found and unaccustomed movement relationships emerge. Your habits and assumptions are challenged and you find new solutions. Attention, curiosity and awareness combine to engage your capacity for on-going change, not just in the class, but in your future work.

Respected practitioners Shelagh O'Neill and Helen Poynor have been developing their collaborative approach over the past six years. They offer a rich creative and learning environment of value to all those working with the body in motion, including movement practitioners, body workers, dancers, performers and people from all walks of life interested in movement.

Shelagh O'Neill is a Feldenkrais practitioner working mainly in Penzance and Bristol. She has spent a lifetime in education, teaching, researching, and practising Feldenkrais. She discovered The Feldenkrais Method® in 1985, and completed the first UK professional training in 1990. Since then, she has practised the work with a wide range of individuals and institutions.

Helen Poynor runs the Walk of Life workshop and training programme in non-stylised and environmental movement.  She is an independent movement artist and an internationally recognised movement teacher whose approach has evolved out of 30 years of professional practice in four continents.  She is a Visiting Professor of Performance at Coventry University and a Registered Dance Movement Therapist.
